Lovells Court is situated in the peaceful village of Marnhull, deep in Hardy country. It is a large rambling house of much character standing at the end of an avenue of chestnut trees. With fine views across the Blackmore vale, it offers all the peace and tranquility of the English countryside. There are many villages and towns nearby that offer food. Marnhull itself has two pubs which serve evening meals, one within easy walking distance.
Our home makes an excellent base for discovering the rural areas of Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire.
- The market town of Sturminster Newton with its working mill on the Stour
- The splendid abbeys of Sherborne and Milton Abbas
- The fine cathedrals of Salisbury and Wells
- National Trust properties: Stourhead; Kingston Lacy; Montacute and other historical houses and gardens
- The Regency city of Bath with its fine architecture
The beautiful coastline of Dorset has much for people to enjoy and all within an hour's drive. From Lulworth Cove with its sheltered beach, the impressive rock formation at Durdle Door to Chesil Bank with its shingle ridge which extends some eleven miles from Portland to Abbotsbury. Dorset also has three major coastal resorts namely Bournemouth, Weymouth and Swanage
